ABOUT SCALA
Scala is a vibrant youth ministry centre located in Blackrock, Cork, beside Blackrock Castle on the banks of the River Lee. Since opening in 1988, Scala has welcomed young people into a supportive space where they can take first steps on a journey of faith, friendship, service and personal growth.
OUR VISION
At Scala, we envision a community where young people feel welcomed, respected and encouraged to discover their potential. Inspired by the Redemptorist mission of working with those most in need, we aim to foster belonging, fairness, confidence and a deeper sense of purpose.
WHAT WE DO
Scala offers a wide range of programmes for young people, including Confirmation retreats, secondary school retreats, the Meitheal Leadership Programme, leadership training, school outreach, seasonal camps, volunteering opportunities and community initiatives. Each programme supports, reflection, responsibility and personal development.
OUR COMMUNITY
Each year, more than 2,000 young people from Cork and across Munster take part in Scala’s retreats, leadership programmes and volunteering opportunities.
Our dedicated and diverse team creates welcoming spaces where young people can connect, reflect, build friendships and grow in confidence.
