Scala is committed to inspiring and supporting young people through a welcoming, inclusive, and faith-filled community. We provide a variety of programmes and experiences that encourage personal development, leadership, and meaningful community involvement. From school retreats, programmes for leaders, to ongoing youth activities, we create spaces where young people can build lasting friendships, discover their potential, and make a positive impact in the world around them.

Our Services
School Retreats
Our retreats offer young people a chance to pause, connect and reflect in a welcoming and engaging environment. Through discussion, creative activities, teamwork and reflection, students explore themes such as wellbeing, relationships, identity, values and faith.
Programmes are designed for each year group and can be tailored to suit the needs of individual schools. We also offer Confirmation retreats and customised retreat experiences in consultation with teachers.
Meitheal
Since 1992, the Meitheal Youth Leadership Programme has helped people across Cork develop confidence, skills and values to become effective leaders in schools and communities.
Through four days of training, students build leadership, teamwork and communication skills while learning the importance of empathy, inclusion and service. Meitheal empowers young people to recognise where support is needed and take action to make a difference.
Leadership Training
Scala provides one-day training programmes for Student Councils, Mentors and Buddies, and class groups. Through practical and engaging workshops, students develop valuable life skills including leadership, communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, meeting facilitation and self-confidence. Programmes can be customised to meet the particular needs and goals of each group.
Outreach & Camps
Scala works closely with schools in the Mahon area through a range of outreach programmes for children and young people. We also host Easter and Summer Camps each year, offering fun, friendship, and engaging activities for children aged 4–12.
